Family man · Founder of Werkstarter · Passionate about craftsmanship and product development · Might need to retake that profile picture.. ;)

I've always been someone who prefers to build things myself rather than just buy them.

I'm fascinated by good craftsmanship – products that are well-designed, durable, and fulfill their purpose. Maybe that's why I often look more closely than others. I wonder why something was constructed the way it was and how it could be made even better. This way of thinking accompanies me not only in my professional life but also in my free time.

With the birth of my son, my perspective on many things changed. I wanted to give him the opportunity to be creative himself, to handle tools, and to realize his own projects. I quickly realized that many children's workbenches, while colorful and playful, had little to do with real craftsmanship. For me, they were toys – not a place where enthusiasm for DIY could develop.

So I started to develop my own workbench.

Not with the goal of bringing a product to market as quickly as possible, but with the aim of creating something I would build for my own child without compromise. Many evenings, countless sketches, prototypes, and always new ideas later, the first Werkstarter workbench was created.

One thing was particularly important to me: children deserve the same quality as adults. A stable construction. High-quality materials. A workspace that is taken seriously and can be used for many years. Because I am convinced that a child can be proud of their workbench – just as they are proud of what is created on it.

For me, Werkstarter is therefore much more than a company. It is a personal project into which I invest a lot of time, passion, and the aspiration to implement every detail thoughtfully. I want to develop products that accompany families for a long time and inspire children to become active themselves – not in front of a screen, but with their own hands.

I believe that the most beautiful memories often arise when you create something together. A birdhouse, a wooden sword, a small shelf, or simply the first workpiece, which may not be perfect yet – but was built with pride.

That's exactly what Werkstarter is for.

I'm glad you're part of this journey.
